Benchmark Analyzer

Welcome to the Benchmark Analyzer tool! These free Excel templates help teachers analyze student performance on the California Content Standards: Practice & Mastery series practice tests.

Download a template for each practice test, enter student information, and the template generates three reports to use in benchmarking student performance: Class Analysis, Individual Student Analysis, and a basic grouping report.

Downloading a template is simple! Use the drop down menus below to choose the subject, grade, and the number of the California Content Standards: Practice & Mastery test you have administered. Then click GO. For instructions on how to work with the files, refer to the user guide below.

Apperson Scanners

CTAP Region IV and RSDSS worked with Apperson Printing to develop a solution for scanning student results and exporting them to the Benchmark Analyzer tool.

The Advantage 1200 OMR scanner package from Apperson Printing, which includes DataLink™ software, provides advanced technology for scoring teacher prepared tests, surveys and ballots. Its use in schools and classrooms throughout the U.S., have helped reduce the time needed by educators to score tests while also decreasing the percentage of clerical errors.

For Apperson customers using version 4.0.13.10 of DataLink™ or newer (PC and Mac):

Please follow the instructions in the User Guide to export data to the Benchmark Analyzer.

For Apperson customers using version 3.5 of DataLink™ (PC only):

Download this file to unlock the CTAP reports in the Datalink™ software. If you cannot expand the downloaded "ctap.zip" file, right-click this link and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" to save the unarchived file to your computer.

The Benchmark Analyzer User Guide includes instructions on where to place the downloaded file on your PC and how to import scanned results into the Benchmark Analyzer files.
